Frequently Asked Questions

These are some of the most common questions we receive. If something isn’t covered here—or if you have a unique situation—we’re always happy to talk it through. Our goal is to remain flexible, clear, and supportive of your household’s specific needs. Please note that all medical emergencies or health-related concerns should always be directed to your veterinarian.

Are you insured and bonded?
Yes. Both myself and Marina (my assistant) are fully insured and bonded. I am a proud members of Professional United Pet Sitters (PUPS) and Pet Sitters Associates.

Do you have references? May I contact them?
Absolutely. We kindly request a day or two to check with former clients before sharing their contact information. You can also read real client experiences on our Hall of Fame page.

Can you administer medications or injections?
Yes, we are experienced in the administration of a variety of medications, including:

 • Insulin, B12, and iron injections
 • Subcutaneous fluids
 • Asthma inhalers (tube-administered)
 • Oral liquids (via syringe)
 • Pills (in food or as treats)
 • Topical creams (thyroid, appetite stimulants)

We are comfortable handling these tasks and are happy to discuss your cat’s specific routine.

How many visits does my cat need per day?
It depends on your cat’s age, personality, medical needs, and feeding schedule. Many clients choose two 30-minute visits per day, especially for older or social cats—but we’re happy to create a schedule that suits your household.

Can you visit every other day instead of daily?
To ensure consistency and emotional wellbeing, all visits must be scheduled on consecutive days. We believe cats benefit from routine, presence, and a steady rhythm of care.

A friend may be stopping by during your visits—is that okay?
We kindly ask that no other individuals visit the home during our scheduled care period. This is both a safety measure and a liability issue, and helps us provide your cat with consistent, focused attention.

My cat goes outdoors. Can you let them out?
If your cat has access to a secure outdoor space (like a catio), or is leash-trained and accustomed to being outdoors, we may accommodate this with written approval. Your consent—via email, text, or signed note—is required prior to the start of care.

Can you recommend a local veterinarian?
Yes. We personally trust and recommend Los Altos Veterinary Clinic in Los Altos. Their team is kind, responsive, and deeply respectful of each animal’s needs. For the San Francisco area— the amazing Dr Kaila Helmer and staff at Presidio Way Pet Hospital.

Do you host cats in your home?
We are strictly in-home caregivers. Our care takes place in your cat’s familiar environment—and our own resident cats wouldn’t have it any other way.

Do you offer dog walking or care for other pets?

We’re a cats-only operation. While we love animals of all kinds, our service is designed exclusively around feline care.
